JustJessReviews – Corsetti Rafaella Lingerie

I loved the packaging on the Rafaella basque. The lingerie was wrapped in pink
tissue paper inside a geometric print box, this is then covered with a sleeve
showing a model in the basque. The inner box would make a great gift box.

The Corsetti Rafaella is 90% polyamide and 10% elastane – this makes the basque very
soft and stretchy. I’m a 14/16 and tested the L/XL. This fitted perfectly,
hugging my hips and skimming across my tummy.

The fit was great but the material itself wasn’t. The mesh on basque is very see
through. I have a LOT of underwear and some of it is very sheer but the mesh panel
felt a bit cheap rather than sexy.

The side lace panels have an illusion effect emphasising my waist. This lace follows
up to the cups but as these aren’t underwired they offer no support. I’m a perky
C cup but I think anyone with larger boobs would struggle due to the lack of lift.
The quality of the lace seemed a lot better than the mesh panels.

The lace up corset back doesn’t nip you in as the material is so stretchy but it
looks gorgeous and adds some fab detailing to the back which would be very plain
without it.

I normally prefer more structure to my underwear, underwires and boning make me feel
more nipped in and lifted which isn’t possible with the Corsetti Rafaella Black
Basque Set. To me it felt more like a body than a basque.

Rafaella’s suspender straps are super adjustable, they are easily long enough
for my 33″ legs with the slider only half way so the Corsetti Basque would fit
both someone much taller and more petite.

Most thongs in sets are tiny scraps of material, an after thought, but the string
with the Corsetti Rafaella Black Basque set is fantastic. The lace front matches the
side panels and cups on the basque and leaves just enough to the imagination without
being barely there.

The biggest drawback for me was the diamante detailing. It looks quite cheap, even
tacky and snagged both my stockings and the basque. I ended up cutting them off!

For the price this isn’t a bad set, I just felt some of the detailing cheapened
it. I don’t want to have to cut bits off my underwear to stop it ruining other
pieces. If the quality of the mesh matched the lace I would have scored the Corsetti
Rafaella Black Basque Set much higher but I can only give it 6/10.
